Rev. Dr. Richard G. Lohmeyer

Pastor Lohmeyer is a native of North Central Kansas, were he grew up on a farm near Linn Kansas.  He received his early education at Zion Lutheran School and Linn Rural High School.  After serving in the U.S. Army, he attended Kansas State University graduating from the Farm Management studies and became a partner in his father’s dairy farm.

Answering the Lord’s call to full-time church work, he went back to school and received his BA in History from Concordia University, Wisconsin.  He received his Masters of Divinity from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri.  Was ordained as a pastor in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod and was appointed to serve Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gulf Breeze, Florida.  During his fifteen years of service at Good Shepherd he led the congregation through a relocation and building program which included the beginning of Good Shepherd Lutheran School.  During his service at Good Shepherd Lutheran, he received his Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary.

In 2003 he accepted a call to serve St. John’s Lutheran Church and School. Staten Island, New York.  In 2010 he accepted a call to become a Mission Pastor to the Greenbrier Valley of West Virginia.  He is the founding pastor of Christ Our Savior of the Valley Lutheran Church in Lewisburg.

Pastor Lohmeyer is married to Judy his partner in ministry.  They have three children and one granddaughter.  They live just outside of Alderson, where they own a home on the Greenbrier River.  He and Judy have a love for nature, and enjoy bird watching, water sports and entertaining friends.
